Porirua cityfitness was born at 5 Semple Street in July 1990, and moved to its current premises in the former Housing Corporation Building in March 1999. In August 2002, a second club was purchased in Johnsonville and the cityfitness chain was born!

cityfitness now has 13 locations around NZ.

As well as a superb range of traditional weight training facilities, cityfitness has extensive cardio areas and runs a variety of group fitness classes. Personal trainers are available for individualized training sessions and other services include a crèche, sports massage, a sunbed and a health shop selling exercise supplements*.

cityfitness is a registered member of the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) ensuring members are given a guarantee of top class facilities, trainers and training methods. In October 2003 cityfitness won the “Most Vibrant Business” at the Porirua Business Awards and in December 2003 was awarded “Best Business” at the North Wellington Business Awards.
